Attention, all students! Do you enjoy playing strategy games? Are you competitive and willing to learn?
If so, the Chess Club is the perfect place for you. The school is starting a brand new club and is seeking players of all skill levels to come and partake in the challenging game.
The club will meet during at 1:50 p.m. Thursdays in KB 109 in the Cooper Complex. Each player should own a chess set. Stephen Raines, assistant professor of social studies and government,mentioned that they may be purchased at any dollar store.
Raines is the sponsor of the club. The chess enthusiast, who has been playing since seventh grade, said the club will welcome “anyone with a teachable spirit and a chess set.”
